AMERICAN SON
"Talk about clinics in the art and craft of acting...
From her opening speechless moments in director Rob Ruggiero's haunting production of "American Son" at TheaterWorks Hartford, Brabson didn't miss a trick or a truth in this emotionally detailed portrayal...Brilliantly calibrated, heartfelt, wrenching work that spared nothing of this woman's anxiety, frustration, fear, anger, helplessness, faith."
The Berkshire Eagle
AMERICAN SON
“At TheaterWorks, Rob Ruggiero is most fortunate to have actors Ami Brabson and J. Anthony Crane playing an increasingly frantic, biracial couple attempting to locate the whereabouts of their son at a Miami police station. The timely drama looks at issues of race and the police and also explores the relationship of the couple who, under extreme circumstances, let their true colors show. "

CURVE OF DEPARTURE
“Ami Brabson’s mother role, Linda . . . has warmth, great understanding and tolerance for her son’s position. Giving good advice she tries to ‘mend’ difficult situations with kind words and caring. A very fine performance from Ami Brabson.”
Rex Hearn
CURVE OF DEPARTURE
“Ami Brabson is a wonder as Linda. She is a woman on the edge, but is never hesitant to speak her mind and offer advice. Whether cheerfully escorting Rudy to the bathroom … all among the undercurrent of her ex-husband’s death…she is the glue that holds this night and morning together… her portrayal is stunning.”
